Information for Local Elected Officials

A program of long standing within University of Illinois Extension, the Local Government Information and Education Network (LGIEN) has a web presence.

The mission of LGIEN is to develop first-rate educational programming that assists local officials in their decision-making and provides education in ways that are convenient, interactive, and cost-effective. If you are a local elected official or know someone who is, LGIEN has an abundance of resources for you to explore.

In addition to the information for elected officials, there is a curriculum for Illinois Jr. High students that teaches them about local government in Illinois.
